Figure 8-Linked Necklace
For this necklace, you will need wire, beads, chain link or needle nose pliers, wire cutter and the round nose pliers. Using the wire cutter pliers cut several pieces of about 5 inches of wire. Next, take the wire at about an inch from the end of the wire and place it on the wide side of the round nose pliers. After, wrap the wire around the pliers to create the loop. Next, place the pliers at the base of the created loop, and take the wire to bend it around the pliers again to create a corresponding loop. This will create a loop that looks like an 8.
After creating the figure 8, place the bead on the long end of the wire. Next take the flat nose pliers and place a firm grip in the middle of the loop and wrap the long side of the wire around the loop. After wrapping the loop, cut off any excess with the wire cutter. Next take the flat nose pliers and push the excess underneath the hole of the loop so it is not visible and no loose ends are sticking up. Next cut off the excess of wire on the other side. Do these steps until you have made a desired amount of links. When inserting the links together, take the short end of the loop and attach it to the open end of the other loop.
After all the links are made and linked together, the next step is to make the fish hook clasp. At the tip of the wire, take the flat nose pliers and bend the tip and crimp it. Take the round nose pliers at the wide end and place it directly underneath the bent and bend the wire the other way. Next using the tip of the round nose pliers, bend the wire up to create a 45-degree angle. Place the pliers at the 45-degree angle and reverse the bend by creating a loop around the pliers. Afterwards, take the long side of the wire and place it into the closed side of the loop and use the needle nose pliers to wrap the wire around the loop made on the fishhook. Trim off any excess wire and press down the wire.
